Possibility of 2 corrections. You said you replaced the cap. Did you replace it with an aftermarket cap or a locking type? If so put a Ford cap on it. Also clean the metal surface that the cap seals to with an alcohol wipe. If this does not fix the problem then take it to your local Ford dealer and have them scan the truck for an emission related malfunction. The light only generalized the problem.

Auto Parts stores are selling spray cans of chrome, the claim on the can states it will chrome anything. I haven`t tried it, but will the next time I need something chromed.
