female honeybees die after they sting. Their stingers are actually ovipositors, tubular structures extending from the abdomen that sometimes contain eggs. When the barbed stinger is left inside the victim, the honeybee mortally tears her abdomen in the process. Alas, she dies.

Note, however, that only female honeybees die after stinging. Fortunately, honeybees are relatively docile, and only commit suicidal acts when provoked. And they only die if they sting a mammal, because of the thickness of our skin. They can sting other insects with impunity.

The mechanics of bee-stinging are fascinating. As Dr. Universe notes, a valve-and-piston motion causes the stinger to both sink itself into your skin, as well as pump venom through the tiny lancets. Also, an "alarm pheromone" secreted at the base of the stinger causes other bees in the vicinity to get riled up.

Fortunately, only about one out of a hundred people are allergic to bee stings, but allergic reactions can be very serious. Yahoo! Health suggests that if you are bit, don't squeeze the bite -- you'll just pump more venom into your system. Try gently scraping off the stinger with a butter knife or a credit card. Of course, if it really hurts, seek medical help.

When a honey bee stings, it loses its stinger which rips apart its abdomen. When a wasp or hornet stings, it loses nothing but some venom. It can sting over and over and do it the next day, and the next. Part of the charm of honeybees is that to protect their own, they will die. Plus their stings don't hurt as much as wasps and hornets, in general. The portion of the bee that stays with the stinger keeps pumping the venom for a few seconds. If you are quick and have longish nails, you can pull the stinger and the venom sac out of your skin and have less of a "bite".

    To answer your question:

Bees die after they have stun you because their organ get torn out during the stinging process. This is due to our skin, which is much thicker than insects (that is why a bee can sting some insects and not die)

Imagine a straighten fish hook, and there is the pointy triangular point on the hook. When the the hook is struck through leather, it would be hard to remove because the material is thick. On the other hand if the hook is struck through a soft material such as an apple, the hook would be easily removed.

    Hopefully that answers your question.

When they sting, they cannot pull away without leaving the sting behind. The embedded stinger remains on the skin pumping more venom. With it's hindquarters ripped out, the bee will not lie long and thus dies from the injury.

So their ferocity and determination to protect the hive is at the risk of their lives.

the barb on the stinger gets stuck in the person , or another mammal or bird and it tears the rear part of the bee with the vemon sac off and the bee dies usually ... weird thing is a bee can sting another bee and not die ...

They don't unless you swat them. But for a while they are basically defenseless until they grow another stinger
