I'm sorry Big, but some do understand the question. They are on a level higher than you or I could understand. This I do know is that I can not vote for best answer for 4 hours, being in another country to the responders it is quite more. I wish you luck on being the top dog. Oh and by the way they answer questions to the best of thier ability, some may be sarcastic, but I see it depends of the question.

I will give some insight.
Thumbs up is the key.
Richard has been pulling ahead with people giving thumbs up for his answers. He managed to get 53,000 points for the week ending Dec 31st.
He is one of two people on this site to have gotten this "bonus", the other being Kevin. This is interesting, as Kevin has stated that once his goals were reached, (getting over 100,000 first) he had no more interest in participating.
Richard once received a "bonus" of 80,000 points in mid-October, at the same time Kevin received one for 11,800.
Both have been moving along with these "bonuses" on and off since that time. (Yes, I have been looking in on them)
There are some who have stated that both Kevin and Richard are engaging in a kind of collusion with minions artificially inflating these number with up to 50 thumbs up per answer given.
Admittedly, there is no clear-cut evidence to support this.
The Y!A staff has investigated and found no compelling proof that this, in fact, is happening; however (and this is my opinion) I find it totally unnatural that so many points can be garnered by random members here, out of the "goodness of their heart" that these answers are so overwhelming fantastic.
If you want to say I am engaging in sour grapes, go ahead. Because of my nature, I am, as always, suspicious.

FYI. If two people decide to give each other the best answer so they can get the ten points they really only get an extra three points only. You ask a question you get -5 points, you get best answer you get +10 points, a difference of +5 points. If I answer the question I get +2 points, so not really that many points different. Also at level, 5 there is unlimited answers you can give. I know of one female face with the name of Doc (something), anyway, I have seen her only put a yes for an answer. In other words, these guys might just put a yes for an answer and in a week you can tally some mean scores up. Of course, people that do that are going against the spirit of the points system, buy then no monetary value is gained so it does not really matter.I do not work, but when I hit the level 5, I will try to be top dog by the end of the year.
Also, I did not really understand the question if you read it.
