What do you think of using cheat codes on a game?
I'm more interested in the single player games, as in why you would want to cheat at it. I understand the people who use cheat codes at multiplayer games ( dont think that its right ) but I understand why they do it.
ok, for the record I have used cheat codes ( for a game called wizardry on an apple 2E, yall really old gamers will know what Im talking about). and I agree with using them in the single player mode to get past something you have tried to beat more than 50 times ( that can get dishearting). But using them in multiplayer should be a no-go. Thanks for yalls input.

My personal opinion is it sucks the fun out of the game, and removes the challenge. I can't say I have NEVER used cheat codes, but I long ago established the policy of saving a 'pre-cheated' game state so I can go back.
However, the use of cheat codes stops with single player games. Multiplayer games are NOT the place to use cheats, simply because you are playing with other people. Unfair advantages should be based on player skill and knowledge, and not an arbitrary 'hack' to the rules of the game.

I'm really sure how to answer that question. lol.
I do use the cheat codes on the Sims games (by the way, If anyone out there has any good cheat codes for The Sims 2, email me and let me know) but only when I'm having lots of trouble with it. Sometimes it gets a little frustrating and some do feel the need to cheat. I'm not suggsting it though because cheating is a wrong thing to do. When I 'm in a bind like in the Sims game, I'm not ashamed to use the cheat codes.

i only use cheat codes when it is a rental game. like if it is due back in a seven days why spend six days unlocking everything when you can just use the code and have everything at once. i really don't understand what your'e trying to ask

sometimes when a part is to hard to complete i use cheats to be able to continue the game, its not fun doing the same thing 100 times only to die again, and again!

If you really need to use them to get past something that is hard thats ok, but it kinda makes it a less of a challenge.

I think no because your cheating that person into thinking your really good if you don't tell them.

i think it is ok & helps u get ahead, but overdoin it just ruins the fun of the game
it is something where less is more
