What would you make with this?

Someone gave me a gift....and I hate to feel ignorant...She loves to make gift baskets and stuff like that. This contained a loaf pan, a box of chocolate chocolate chip cookies and a jar of raspberry preserves. It also contained about 5 recipe cards---all blank. I couldn't figure out what to make in a loaf pan with those ingredients. What would you have made?

I did end up making the cookies as thumbprint cookies on a cookie sheet though, and filled them with raspberry jam.

lol, good question! I think the loaf pan was just a "baking" item for the basket, and the blank recipe cards were for "your" favorite recipes. It was a sweet idea non the less...lol

    Make chocolate chip banana bread!

Its a great recipe and it tastes goooooooooooooooooooooooood!

    Chocolate chip walnut banana bread

    Makes 2

    Ingredients:

    Butter (for pans)

    Flour (for pans)

    1 cup light brown sugar

    1 cup granulated sugar

    3 cups flour

    11/2 teaspoons baking soda

    1 teaspoon salt

    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    1teaspoon ground nutmeg

    4 ripe bananas

    3 eggs, beaten to mix

    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    1/4 cup buttermilk

grated rind of one orange (optional)

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted

    1/3 cup chocolate chips

    1 cup walnuts coarsely chopped

    1. Set the oven at 350 degrees. Have on hand two 81/2 by 41/2 inch loaf pans. Butter and dust them with flour, tapping out the excess.

    2. In a large mixing bowl, break up the clumps of brown sugar with a wooden spoon. With a whisk, stir in the granulated sugar, flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

    3. In a medium mixing bowl, mash the bananas. With a wooden spoon, stir in the eggs, vanilla, buttermilk, orange rind (optional) and butter.

    4. Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture, stirring until just combined. Stir in the chips and walnuts.

    5. Divide batter between the pans. Bake the cakes for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until the top is firm to the touch and a skewer inserted into the cake comes out clean.

    6. Set the cakes on a wire rack to cool for fifteen minutes. Then turn the cakes out of the pans and set them right side up to cool.

You really don't have to let them cool. I think they're so good I would rather burn my mouth on the bread then go without eating it after its just come out of the oven. You have to try this recipe. It's not that hard to make either. Despite all the ingredients.
