Jade and Shilpa Make Up - Jade and Shilpa hug
Thursday 18 January
Day 16, 19:58

A chat in Nowhere can get you everywhere...
Newsflash! Jade and Shilpa have made up!
The 25-year old instigated the peace talks which took the form of an extended one-to-one in Nowhere. She started by acknowledging that Shilpa must have been affected by her outburst during Tuesday's great stock cube debate:
"I know that what has happened has not been nice for you... and a lot of stuff got said the other day from you and from myself," she began. Referring to her use of the term 'Shilpa Poppadom', Jade took great lengths to explain that nothing malicious was behind it: "I didn't say [it] in a racial way... I do not judge people by the colour of their skin."
"I know that," replied a calm Shilpa. "I don't think you're racist."
"I appreciate you saying that - it does mean a lot," said Jade.
But diplomacy is rarely easy - and as the pair sifted through their exact words during Tuesday's row, tempers momentarily threatened to ignite once more.
"If somebody is going to keep calling me fake, it's bound to hurt me," stressed the actress.
When Jade said the suggestion that she needed elocution lessons really wound her up, Shilpa had to correct her: "I didn't say elocution. I said etiquette."
"It's obvious we don't get on," said Jade, citing "different backgrounds". "There is definitely a culture clash," agreed Shilpa, who then took the high ground saying: "You said more nasty things about me than what I said about you."
With inroads slowly being made, Jade pointed the finger at herself for letting events escalate on that night: "I was angry of the fact that I'd let you make me get so angry over a cube!"
After giggling over how trivial if all was, the pair agreed that it was sad the House had become divided. "I don't want the awkwardness anymore," remarked Jade.
Then, at precisely 7.50pm and 40 seconds, it happened. Jade uttered the immortal words "I'm sorry" and lunged in for a hug. Yes - A HUG!
Smiling, they joked that they are unlikely to be best friends, but were pleased to dispel any bad feelings.
"I really appreciate that you took the first step," smiled Shilpa. And with that, the pair walked into the House to report their armistice.
Dirk applauded, Ian launched into a rendition of 'Love Is In The Air', and all seemed well in Celebrity Big Brother House.
Just gotta point a minor detail out to those who apparently can't read very well: if you look at the original comment, you'll see it is taken from a website.: it's not my own analysis. So insulting me for writing an analysis, when I did not, is really very stupid. Brainless morons, I pity YOU.

so being made aware of the fact that people are perceiving you as a racist and god knows whatever else was said during jade's hour in the diary room and only then going to make amends, with the knowlege that you are up for the public vote for eviction makes the viciously aggresive bullying ok?
and for that matter the fact that it took two days for those in charge to ask the victim of the bullying (in a leading manner) if she thought she was the victim of racism? (interesting to note that they glossed over the issue of bullying, and just asked about the racism, almost already knowing the answer).
this does not make the fact that she and several other housemates aggresively pursued trivial issues (and in some cases absolutely no issues) and have abused and bullied another person ok.
they still have not taken to task the base issue of bullying. this is a poor example, and needs to be dealt with.
nothing has been resolved, only carefully painted over. the behaviour witnessed was wrong, and should not be accepted. it would be equally wrong to shut up and accept what has happened here because of a carefully crafted and insincere apology to a person who is too well behaved to do anything other than accept it.
this teaches bullys that they can get away with their behaviour, and it teaches the victims of bullying that nothing will be done to help you. it is wrong.

There is an element of truth in what 'Oompahloopa's answer. Yes, they appear to have 'made up' but this was most certainly contrived in an attempt to quell all of the media hype. And yes, there was a considerable amount of bullying involved. However, the only thing that has come out of this is the 'pandora's box' that they have opened up for everyone. It has brought to the fore the extreme problems that England are having to deal with regarding race relations.

But a hug in telly-land is never a real hug. On with the debate. This is my 13th Jade answer today, is this a record? I don't even know who she is either, but I'm getting there.
