If someone owns a piece of land?
do they own it all the way down to the center of the earth? What would you do with all that, any way?
Thanks for answering my survey!

Not knowing how serious your question is...the real answer is it would depend on if the previous owner granted mineral rights to the property when he/she sold it. If he kept the mineral rights then anything within the ground could be later claimed by him/her. Meaning, if you find oil & don't own the mineral rights to your land it doesn't belong to you.

Not if you don't own the mineral rights, plus I'm sure when we start building underground cities they'll work that out. You probably don't.
Damn you Buddy Holly!

No, you only own the first 500 feet and that does not include any mineral rights.

I would say yes because if you struck oil on your land, you would be entitled to it. Per example, the show "The Beverly Hillbilies".

I dont think they do because you need to buy the mineral rights to your property which means you probably dont.

You can drill for oil. Oh no. If you found that you wouldn't own that either.LAWS!
