Why is it, I wonder...?

Some people like finding the cracks in the system and looking for a way to get paid to sit at home and do nothing. Is this a sign of the decadence of American society? Or is it more a sign of the apathy with which the society of today approaches life? This brings on another question: Does the worker of today benefit from the profusion of lawyers that encourage injury lawsuits? Or is it the other way around?

Update:

So, Glitter, what is it? Is it the apathy, the decadence, the lawyers? A combination? I'm looking for thought-provoking answers here! Any more detail you can add? This is for my own information. I'm compiling ideas for a book to be written much later.

Update 2:

And I don't believe it has anything to do with religion! Sin is just a religious name for human inclinations. Leave religion at the door. This should be a socio-economic debate, not a religious one!

finding cracks in the system has gone on for as long as the system . this crack finding is just as prevalent in the rich as it is in the poor .

this is just an indication that sin was then and is now.

lawyers are useless. laws should be written in government the same as is done now but after a totally random selection of say 10,000 people should be sent a copy of the law and they each should say if they understand it ,if its clear. if it seems like someone was getting paid by the number of words used,

and what changes must be made so that no one ever would need a lawyer for anything. ban lawyers.

lawyers are not of any help to the earth it would be better if they had learned to be sailors and gone off to see on ships together so they could ramble on to one another without bugging the rest of the people.

Too many people want to be paid to sit around and do nothing while they are able to work. It makes it rough on those who aren't cheating the system and are truly disabled.

This sue-happy environment we are in makes it almost impossible to function properly as a country. What it boils down to is that the injured person wants free money and lawyers want their cut so it seems it's a relationship where both parties benefit but society does not.

On the lawyer subject: I think it works well for both sides of the equation.

I know of a case where a mother successfully sued Disney for millions when her son saw Mickey Mouse taking his costume off behind the scenes at Disneyland, claiming that this had caused severe emotional trauma.

    Go figure.

this only proves that we are a lazing people and that are society will suffer because no one wants to work or get any thing done. the best way to get through the day is to think of the things that make you happy. i think people will get stressed out thinking about all the different issues that are happening in the world today.
