How can I get rid of unwanted junk mail which overwhelms me as there seem to be no way of blocking these from coming to my address? A lot of this mail is sex medicines, sex gadgets and the like for increasing girth or length or strength. I have no use for them.

I have no use for these things either. The spammers operating from overseas servers seem to use different senders addresses every time so they cannot be blocked. I get 8 or 10 a day mostly in the bulk folder so it is easy to check they really are junk and empty the folder with one click. If they do get to your inbox click the spam button.

I think you are talking about junk EMAIL, not regular paper mail. This kind of junk mail, or Spam, is an ongoing problem for all of us. Unfortunately, the only way to truly stop junk mail is to stop using email. But none of us wants to do that. All you can do is keep deleting it and marking it as spam. One thing you should never do... NEVER open junk mail. It will send an alert to the spammers that you have an active email address, and they will FLOOD your account with more spam in the future.

There is a telephone preference service which removes your telephone number/contact details from the listings so you can't get cold called. I belive there is a similar service for postal companies. Probably something like "postal preference service". The telephone version is free and the companies who cold call have to check that you're not registered upon it otherwise they can get fined. A pretty good deterent.

Otherwise, when I get cold calls, I ask them to hold on a second whilst I answer the door. Then I just leave the 'phone on the side with them waiting. It's their bill....

    After searching for weeks, Eureka!

    Go to Options

    Click Mail Options

    On left side click Spam

    Click Blocked Address

Fill in email address you want to block

    When asked, save.

    I hope this helps

Most of this kind of mail is filtered by your ISP into a bulk/spam folder. Simplest thing to do is just ignore it. Empty the folder every now and again if need be.

Never ever open any of it
