Can someone help me with a plug-ins problem?

Long story short - the kids have downloaded or deleted something in my computer and I'm at a loss as to how to fix it. I used to be able to view movies at IVillage and have tried to take a couple of online courses but receive error messages that I am missing plugins. I have upgraded and then deleted and re-downloaded Quicktime, Windows Media Player, Realplayer and Adobe but that doesn't seem to fix the problem. I also upgraded from the Internet Explorer 7.0 Beta version to the full version. Can someone give me some direction?

Update:

I am running Windows XP.

Update 2:

I've already tried a system restore. That didn't work either.

once you state you have power, i'm helpful you already know that power demands a great (black), as properly as a impartial (white), and for protection the floor (copper). that's obtainable that the black (+) remained unaffected, on a similar time as the impartial (white) could a fashion or the different have been pulled from the loop. this will supply you a faux reading. close the circuit breaker off, take a reading to verify, open the wall plug and look on the wiring. in case you plug in permit's say a lamp, will it easy? If it would not, the impartial is lacking.
