Is there a specific name for the back arching, sideways hopping, fearsome looking kitten manuver?

Cannot describe it other than when kittens are real young, they hop sideways with their backs arched, hissing and trying to look like they are the meanest things on earth.

I did a seek on Yahoo and greater than a number of individuals there additionally use the term. There in all risk is an actually scientific term used for it, yet i've got in no way heard it. Ask your vet or seem at some vet reference books.

I don't know if there is a name for it. Kittens are practicing for when they're older and will need that skill (the whole arching their back and turning sideways makes them look bigger to a possible enemy)

Love those fearsome little beasties! By turning sideways they appear larger to another threatening animal.

My grandmother always called it "The Halloween Kitty" because everytime you see a halloween cat picture it's doing that. Not sure if it has a real name but it is something to watch.
