Why do people answer in "Languages" if they have no idea about the concerned language?

I can't really understand why some people answer in the department "Languages" when they have no idea or a very vague idea of certain language about which the question has been asked? I got tired with reading useless answers containing literal and often meaningless translations taken from sites providing translation of words in different languages. People, do not you understand that those who ask expect an expert's answer! Do you really care about those 2 points you will get if your answer was of no use to the inquirer?

Update:

Some additional info for you to better understand my question. I mean that in "Languages" people often ask each other to translate some words, phrases, extracts from one language to another. I can't stand answers giving stupid and wrong info! Some people think that they help if they open altavista or any other site for translations, insert there the text or phrase to be translated and then copy and paste the result (text/phrase) composed of infinitives in his answer to the question asked.. Now u see what I mean?

Update 2:

For Angry Andy Rowdy

I am not against making jokes and having fun sometimes on this site. I just do not like useless answers of some of the users. I am really sorry for ur having spent ur time on answering my question, it was not worth it because you misunderstood it and have not really noticed the evident stupidity of certain answers. By 'experts' i did not mean people having a diploma in a domain but the one who have at least an idea about what the question was about.

While I agree that some people answer who know less than the asker, and that is useless, I don't think it's fair of an asker to expect an "expert" to answer here. It's a free internet service, no more no less.

I think it should normally be clear to the asker when an answer comes out of the person's hat--otherwise, the answerer should admit how (in)competent s/he is.

What I don't understand is why you're so worked up about all of this? I mean if you can't stand the answers you're seeing, better shutdown your PC and get a day job or something.

This is supposed to be fun. Some of the answers are intended to be fun. And please don't generalize answerers. When I do my translations, I use my brain, not some online translators. And yes, I may not produce an "expert" answer because I'm not an expert!

If all the people here are experts, then Yahoo! should be charging for the translations. I should be getting extra bucks not just points. People may not provide "expert" answers because they simply DO NOT WANT TO. It's a free site anyway, so why exert the effort!

Its a free site! It should be fun. You're killing all the fun by venting your frustrations. Remeber to read the community guidelines. Its prohibited to use this site to vent anger and frustrations.

    Chil out!
