Who thinks being told to watch rugby on a computer blows chunks?
Should not rugby in america be on a television network, not a computer?

Not enough fans. Rugby is more popular in the UK and Austrailia. If Rugby were broadcast in the US, no one would watch it.
It is a good sport (No pads), and more rough than US Football, so I do think it is something that would appeal to the violent American culture if it caught on.

It is rather odd. Behind the Olympics and the soccer World Cup, the Rugby World Cup is the third biggest sporting event on the planet with the 2003 World Cup drawing a cumulative audience of 3.5 billion. Rugby is always growing in the USA and if you look at the ex-pat community alone then I think people would be very surprised to realise just how many people would be interested - if over half the rest of the planet are interested in the tournament, I'd be surprised if it doesn't interest many people in america.
Setanta is a good option - when I was in New York during the Six Nations a couple of years ago, that's what the Irish Pubs showed the rugby on and it wasn't too hard to find... then again, nothing's hard to find in New York.

Yes, watching Rugby on a computer does suck, sucks big time in fact. Another person mentioned Setanta. As far as I know they are the only channel that shows rugby in the US. Fox Sports World used to untilthey became Fox Soccer Channel.

Yes! I'm tired of seeing poker, golf, and tennis on ESPN. There are 1500 rugby clubs in America - you can't tell me there isn't an audience for rugby.

If you like rugby, ya, that sucks. An expensive channel you find only on Directv and maybe Dishtv, I think, called "Setanta" shows rugby on tv. What match are you wanting to watch?

As long as there is no place to put commercials, it'll be hard to get it to catch on in the US.
I think in the future 7's might catch on in the states due to the fact that there is plenty of places to put commercials, and it is a little faster of a game.
Yes it does blow chuncks - big ones!!!

It's far more fun to have the whole family and neighbourhood crowded round the TV!

I always thought it should be watched live.
Just the way I was brought up I guess.
