Travel Question: NYC to Fenway Park?

Cheapest is likely the Fung Wah bus. It's $15 each way.

It drops you off near South Station (subway) and you can take the train to Fenway from there.

Amtrak would be the next step up, but a lot more than $15.

There are several ways to get to Boston from NYC. BUT DONT TAKE THE FUNG WAH BUS! Amtak comes dirictly from NYC to Boston, and then you can take the commuter rail and it stops just behind Fenway. Come up 95 to Boston, and you can stay outside of Boston and take the T, the MBTA, the subway into the city and then take the Green Line right to Fenway. Have fun and enjoy the game, Oh, btw, dont listen to the Yankee fans, they have NO clue as to waht Bostonis like, samll and walkable. Have fun.

I've always wanted to go to a game at Fenway, but it's pretty pricey. I would go if you get a chance, but not at the expense of going to Yankee Stadium. Yankee Stadium doesn't have to be expensive, you should do both. At Yankee Stadium, your best bet is to sit in the left field bleachers. The seats are cheap, even for Yankee/Red Sox games. In the right field bleachers, you'll get booed constantly and if you cause any trouble, you'll be thrown out of the stadium while the crowd sings "Na na na na. Na na na na. Hey hey hey. Goodbye." It's a game played at Yankee-Red Sox games, generally good natured. Since there's a lot more Yankee fans, if it gets out out of hand, it's usually easier to expel a handful of Red Sox fans than 50+ Yankee fans, but if there is a small group of Yankee fan instigators, they will get thrown out instead. Regardless of where you sit, but especially in Right Field, you will at some point or another have about 200 people pointing at you and chanting "a$$hole" until you take off your cap or something interesting happens on the field. Just be ready for that. Caps are occasionally stolen in that process, but that sort of physical contact is considered crossing the line, so the police will get you your cap back and eject the person who took it. Left field is where the kids sit and it's a lot tamer. If you're going to the stadium as a Red Sox fan, that's where you should sit. Don't sit too close to center field as the view is obstructed by the poorly thought out batters eye. The bleachers at the new stadium are open to the rest of the building, so you can walk around and see the game from anywhere. You can go to monument park if you get there at least an hour ahead, you can go to the museum after the game, you can visit the restaurants, atrium, and generally see all the angles and explore the park. It's overall a great experience and a great value.

it is a 4 hour train ride on Amtrak. You can ride in style one way business class for $90. Not the cheapest, but you don't have to drive! Boston is best traveled via their subway system. There are stations everywhere, even right by Fenway.

Dont listen to the guy who said take the Fung Wah bus. Those are all illegally hired drivers and they get into LOTS of accidents. While it is the cheapest way, its not the safest. You can drive, its about 3 1/2 hours and its a pretty nice drive, I did it a year ago and had a lot of fun. You can also take a greyhound bus (With legally hired drivers) from Port Authority in Times Square. If the bus isnt your thing, take a train from Grand Central Station.
