load a swf file into a movie clip?

Question

i know its very easy but i tried so many variations and none of them worked.
i have a main swf file and another one in the same folder.
what i want is; when i click a button -which is in the main swf-, i want the other swf file to open in a movie clip which is again inside the main swf.
in other words, i want to see the both swf files at the same time in the same window

You would need to write action script for button release event to load the movie
You can create an empty movie clip and name it as externalMovie on the frame where you have the button.
on(release) {
loadMovie("othermovie.swf",_root.externalMovie);
}
