Does anyone know of some reputable book buyers I can contact?

I have to downsize and unfortunately, I have to get rid of books. I have the option of giving them to a Library or a charity, but I need some cash. The books are all in excellent shape, many of them are 1st editions. Any ideas? Thanks

Go to Halfpricebooks.com and see if there is a store in your area. Unlike most used bookstores, they make a cash offer that's equal to what you'd get in credit at most stores.

Some things you should consider before selling your books:

1.) Modern first editions are usually fairly useless because the print runs of established authors' books are very large. Scarcity is what creates the value in a 1st edition.

2.) You may actually make more $$ if you donate the books and take a tax write-off.

3.) You will always make more money if you skip the middle man and sell them yourself. If you have the time, listing them on Half.com will probably make you more money, but if you want it all done with quickly and easily, go sell them to a used book store.

    Good luck!
