kitchen decor ideas?
I AM WANTING TO PAINT MY KITCHEN WALLS & CABINETS.
EVERYTHING IN THE KITCHEN IS WHITE, EXCEPT COUNTERTOP IS BLACK WITH HINTS OF GRAY, AND APPLIANCES ARE STAINLESS. I WOULD LIKE TO GET AWAY FROM SO MUCH WHITE. ANY SUGGESTIONS. I WOULD LIKE TO THROW IN SOME RED.

Paint comes in every color imaginable. I would do a red on the walls and paint the cabinets a nutral or off color to balance out the red and black. Maybe the white on the cabinets would look ok with the black counters and red walls. Try painting the walls alone first, it is easy to paint over and not as much work as the cabinets will be. You can always go back and paint the cabinets later. A faux finish on the walls will jazz things up a lot.
Changing the cabinet hardware (or adding if not there) like knobs and pulls is another way to spice up the kitchen. The hardware comes in lots of styles and colors as well.

What about painting the cabinets red, then glazing with a dark brown or black? It would still give that punch of red but wouldn't be overwhelming.
If you then have black and red, you'll want one more color for the walls that you can then spread around the kitchen in the accessories, perhaps a pale yellow. It's pretty easy to find linens and knick knacks with the red and yellow combination.
Good Luck.
