What do you think this quote means?

"The ability to manage well doesn't make much difference if you're not even in the right jungle." - Stephen Covey, an American author who wrote "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People".

Thanks :]

Being able to organize (or manage) doesn't help you if you're organizing the wrong project.

Though, to be honest, the context would help a lot.

I don't know it in context, but I would interprit it as good leader needing good followers. No matter how good a manager one is, he/she needs the right people, because what they can achieve is dependant on their abilities and work ethic, in addition to the managers own abilities. An example would be; could Bill Bellechik have reached the playoffs coaching this years Raiders?... probably not

player one is right about context and I think this is what this means you can posess all the management skills there are but if you have your self in a situation where those skills are unmarketable to the next level they mean nothing not sure I agree but I think thats what it means

I think it means that you shouldn't pretend to know what you're talking about or try to control a situation you can't handle
