Alta Utah. Consistenly receives about 550 inches of snow each season and is a skiers only resort! Just an easy 35-40 minute drive from downtown Salt Lake City. My second favorite and it's becoming more well known since the Olympics is Snowbasin in Utah. Only a 50 minute drive from SLC near Ogden, Utah. Has 2 gondolas and their terrain will compare with Snowbird, but with rarely any lift lines even during most holiday periods.

Copper Mountain in Colorado is the best ski resort. It has Lots of Bowls with lift access. And the terrain is naturaly devided so you You won't ever run into begginer skiers while going down to the Chair Lifts.

I used to live in Germany and I went to a place called Winklemoose (not sure on the spelling on that) One side of the mountain went into Austria, and the other went into Germany, so that was pretty cool to.

    #1 Steamboat Springs, CO

The best kept secret in the state! Not a lot of steeps, but the best powder glades you could ever hope for!

    #2 Beaver Creek, CO

The "real" Vail. Never crowded, always good. Check out Rose Bowl if you want steeps. Arrowhead if you want long cruisers.

    #3 Mt. Hood Meadows, OR

Its a friggin volcano! How cool is that?

I'm not a skier but I know a lot people who are and they all love Alta and Deer Valley in Utah, 2 of the only ski only resorts left in the world. So, I know those are really popular with skiers, but I love boarding in Utah. It's really hard to find a resort that you don't like so that's my favorite place.

Jackson Hole, Its got the most challenging terrain out of any place in the US. The sign at the base says it all. “ Our Mountain is like nothing you have skied before! It is huge, with variable terrain from groomed slopes to dangerous cliff areas and dangerously variable weather and snow conditions. You must always exercise extreme caution. You could become lost. You could make a mistake and suffer personal injury or death. Protect yourself – understand the trail map and ask questions before you proceed. Obey all trail signs and markers. Please think and be careful.

Give this special mountain the respect it demands!”

Alta, Utah! But the Jungfrau region near Interlaken Switzerland is pretty awesome too.
