Can you identify this underrated bass player?

He is from a "classic" rock band, considered heavy metel in their day. I have noticed that without his bass lines, the guitar legend he played with, would sound "incomplete". I am a guitar player, but I find it unfortunate that some bass players don't get the recognition they deserve for "completing" the sound of their guitar player. I guess the average listener doesn't really care. Anyway...give me your guesses. I know there is more than one, but I feel this one is the most important to the gutiar players sound.

Update:

I have found that 80s guitar players played like the combination of the guitarist and bass player, leaving 80s bass players to just play very basic lines.

Hi Ostrich. Uriah Heep is one of My Favorites as You probably know. Since I own every Uriah Heep album ever made I would have to say that I indeed liked them still after Dave Byron left the band, and Mick Box is underrated. There We agree. My Top 10 of Uriah Heep 1 The Hanging Tree 2 Firefly 3 The Wizard 4 Stealin 5 Rainbow Demon 6 July Morning 7 Lady In Black 8 Tears In My Eyes (Shows what a Great Guitarist Mick is) 9 Come Away Melinda 10 Bird Of Prey

I'm saying Jack Bruce from Cream. I know Clapton couldn't have thrived without him and he was a forerunner for bass to come. If not Bruce, I could guess Billy Cox from the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Both Cream and the Experience were in the 3 man format.

ummmmm i'm thinking... Duff McKagan (bassist for Guns 'N Roses i think...) cuz Slash and Izzy got like ALOT of attention for their guitar playing (Especially Slash cuz he does totally ROCK!!) but wow GNR totally rocked!!!

But wow you're someone who notices bass players don't always (but some do) get alot of attention from average listeners. But see i listen to for bass when listening to my fav songs/bands!!! cuz I want to be a bassist in a band that will hopefully get signed one day!!! (I am teaching my self bass guitar right now.) i actually tried just regular guitar but decided Bass guitar was so much awesome-er if that counts as a word lol. but ya so i think it is awesome someone (you) is actually identifying bass players!!!! but ya Duff McKagan was my guess.... lol.
