Why do Superbowl Tickets cost so much?

It seems like each and every year the price goes up dramaticly. With this year, face value for the tickets are $600-$700 each, will there ever be a limit to how high they will go?

First, Supply and Demand dictates the high price. Second, the difficulty in obtaining the tickets, drives prices up. Note: Most of the Superbowl Tickets are first offered to season ticket holders, whom usually will purchase them and re-sell the tickets for a dramatically higher price..Thus, helping to recoup the cost of the season tickets which they purchased. Third: The very few tickets that are alloted for the public are offered to those who are chosen in a ticket purchase Lotto. You must send in a request by mail, months prior to the Superbowl and hope that you are chosen. In conclusion, the short supply allows those who obtain Superbowl Tickets to set the price at whatever the public will spend. The teams that are in the Superbowl will drive the demand.

Simple economics - Supply and Demand

As Long as people are willing to pay, the price will go up until the tickets buyers say "uncle"!

To get a crowd that has money to spend, the NFL is a business and need to make a profit, so if the tickets were $100.00 then anyone could go, but with TV you can watch and hear the stupid commentary all night, they suck
