Its not your fault, Yahoos violation system does not work, if you report anything there is a very high chance the person you reported will receive a violation. For example if I was to report you for not a question or answer, you would probably receive a violation.Appealing them almost never works either, I've proven though Yahoos community service and TOS online rules that my questions were not in violation and yet Yahoo still refused to respond.

Thats just so dumb. I cant believe someone reported that. Its NOT insulting other participants. Someone did it to be mean. Thats all.
Id reply to the violation email or Id write to Jane at Yahoo. Here are 2 email addresses.

Hope you get justice. Theyve helped me recently, maybe theyll help you.
Good Luck...

A problem here is one of tone.
Now, as I read your answer, I see a well reasoned approach; but to others, it can come off as snide, condescending or whatnot.
The big problem is there is no way to determine when a solid answer might go astray

I call it being punked - you were punked by some jerk who didn't like something about what you said, so they flagged you. Yahoo automatically deletes a post someone reports as a violation. They do no evalution of their own before deleting your post.

I know it has happened to me too, just cause they don't like your answer, I think yahoo should ck it out before accepting the report!
