What are you trying to play? In BattleField 2, you can only talk with people who are in your physical prioximity. This is complicated by the fact that often people don't use/know how to
use headsets so...
Also, understand that there is a on/of switch on the unit and a volume (so turn it on, and turn the volume up) - then find an online friend (BF2 again) and see if you can chat!
