Problem is Sout Cyprus belives that all ısland belongs to them. They want to kill all Turk's like in 1973. But Turkish Soldiers will never let this . NEVER.

Cypriots do not consider Cyprus part of Greece or any other country. Cypriots want our country to be free and united. The British when they granted independence to Cyprus in 1959 they kept two "soveign bases". They put that as part of the agreements that led to the independence of Cyprus. They also kept the right to excersice throughout the island militarily. One of the reasons Greek Cypriots voted against the Anan plan is that for the first time the people of Cyprus was asked to bless the agreement to keep the British forces with a vote. That would destroy the chances that after Turkey leaves to turn our attention to forcing the British out. The Turkish army is an occupation army that invaded in July of 1974 with paratroopers and boats. Their case is less complicated. They are an occupying force because, well because that is what they are. The British just never left their two "bases". Turkey is trying to trick G/C to sign an agreement that will keep her troops in Cyprus forever. It would not be wise to be had twice. There cannot be a solution to the Cyprus problem with Turkish troops remaining behind.

The Greeks consider Cyprus to be part of Greece- and the occupiers (be it Turks or Brits) as a temporary inconvenience. They fought against the Brits until a ceasefire was reached (the Brit bases are part of the peace settlement). Then they wanted to join Cyprus to Greece- and the Turks objected due to the presence of lots of Turkish settlers on the island (Turks have been there since the 1600's when they conquered the island). Of course each side has its own reasons, historical precedents and a logical explanation for its actions. I guess it makes them feel important.

Is there a solution? Historical precedents are no help because depending on what part of history you choose- either Greece ruled over the whole region (including the whole of Turkey) or Turkey ruled over the whole region (including the whole of Greece). The logical solution might be either to permanently partition the island (makes no one happy) or to buy out one of the communities (kind of a "golden handshake" solution. Somehow getting a large sum of money makes most people much less fanatical). In the long run it would cost much less than maintaining a perpetual "ceasefire"

Cyprus was being claimed by Turkey and UK. Thus, there are Turkish and British soldiers occupying parts of the island.

Because the Greeks who own Cyprus let them stay, and want the Turks out. How many countries recognise North Cyprus anyway? (one).

If Turkey behaves itself maybe Europe will let it join the EU.
