No I drove one when I was in Bahrain and it was a fun cheap to run and easy to fix set of wheels. However I am back in the states now and it wouldn't last ten minutes on a American road. The car is way to slow and wouldn't be allowed on a US highway the minimum is 45 MPH that's the top speed of a 2CV. I also live in hill country so I would be pushing that poor car probably beyond it's limits. I also noticed the heater left a lot to be desired in that car. A necessity in Vermont. I also love my automatic transmission something I never found in a 2CV.

All mk1 warm hatches from the 80's, autos like the VW golfing GTi, the Peugeot 205 GTi, Renault 5 GT swifter, Ford Fiesta XR2i, Escort XR3i, and the Seirra XR4i. Oh, and a 1990 BMW 325i convertible, ideally in blue.

They're certainly fun!! A 2CV is the only car I've ever managed to get the speedo needle all the way round the dial back to the 0mph pin. My mate was doing 85 to keep up. (Obviously, it was a very long, steep hill!) You can stick Honda Fireblade engines in 'em too, apparantly.

Who would consider a 1940's technology 2 cylinder car with no amenities at all the best car? It's not the worst, but it is far from the best. The car has a great history of being simple to work on and durable in places where most cars could die.

They are not even the best cars on a run down council estate. Try a C reg Larda, it will definitely have less problems

They might be in your world. I'm glad that I live in my own little world where the nice men in white coats look after me, or is that you?
