What Websites/Programs Are Compatible With Macs?

I'm thinking of getting a Mac, but I do not know much about them. Can you still get great video-editing programs for them? Can you go to websites like Youtube and watch the videos on them? Also, can you still visit most of the websites you would visit with a PC?

Yes, you can do it all on the Mac. Many video editing houses use Adobe Premier and After effects. Heck, you can even run windows XP on the new Macs but why would you want to.

Macs come with great video editing software. It's called iMovie HD, and it's included with every new Mac. For more advanced editing there's the venerable Final Cut (Express or Pro).

YouTube, Google Videos, Daily Motion... all work fine on Mac OS X. Just make sure you keep your Flash plugin up to date.

Some sites, I have no examples at the moment, were coded explicitly for IE on Windows and require ActiveX which is not available on the Mac. Those lazy-@$$ developers should be fired, but that's for a different discussion.

    Short Answer: Yes

Macs are able to get everything online, Youtube, myspace, pretty much anything but sites requiring ActiveX for Internet Explorer, which you might be able to get on a Mac. The internet is available on everything, including Linux.

Video editing COMES with the Mac through iLife. There are many great programs for the Mac, some even better than that of the PC
