Side effects are different for everyone. Just because of a friend of a friend had a hair fall out or gained a few pound, doesn't mean anything. There is no way to tell what the same hormone variant may do in one women as compared to another. The symptoms you described may not even have been caused by the pill, just attributed to it.
If you are thinking about going on Yaz, talk to your doctor about it, they should be able to better answer your questions.

Actually, it should help to prevent hair loss. It may be as a result of stopping Yasmin, that you may shed more hair than normal, but this should soon sort itself out as your hormone production stabilises.
