who knows what 2', 1/12" flourescent light i need to grow plants with?
the fixture i have now is a heavy duty strip light and it holds 2 natural sunshine, 850 lumens, 5000k, 20 watt, t12, 120 volt tube lights. i have looked into the new t5 grow lights but the problem is that i live in Anchorage Alaska and i need to know where to get them.

Use your computer for a search into "grow lights". There"s a outfit in B.C,Canada called something like THC,com that can help you out. You might consider using the smaller,screw-in florescent types with their own built-in ballast--these operate with little heat and produce the "right" kind of light for plants.These are especially made for growing plants and come in a couple different sizes--use less electricity too. You propably will have to "Fed-Ex" it in from the lower 48. Take Care.
