94 Ford Windstar...blowing cold air?? NOT BLOWING HEAT!!!?
My windstar is blowing cold air..not blowing heat. We have replaced some worn hoses and the thermostat. Still blowing cold air..esp the back (blowers) are very cold air.
This would of happen when it is winter!!

My friend just went through this with her Ford. There is a "door" on the heater unit that failed to open and it would not heat her car. Have a repair shop check to see if the little door is stuck.

First open the hood and feel the two rubber heater hoses that connect to your heater core under the dash. Typically, they are on the passenger side at the firewall and should both feel hot to the touch if the heater core is flowing the engine coolant freely. If the output hose is much cooler, you'll know that the heater core may be plugged up and need replacing. Make sure the engine is plenty hot and the heater is set to high heat. If both heater hoses are hot, then you probably have a problem under the dash with air blend doors and controls. If you haven't had the engine antifreeze coolant replaced every two years, then your cooling system may be all plugged up with rust and it's not surprising that your heater core is plugged up after 12 years of service.

Usually 1 of 4 things. Heater core clogged But not likely, thermostat not getting to normal temp, broken blend door actuator or broken blend door. You can eleminate tstat by if you water temp gauge gets into the middle of "normal". Heater core you can eliminate by touching heater hoses after car warms up both should be hot. If one is cold then heater core is clogged. To check the blend door actuator open the glove box all the way out and on top there will be this white box see if you can see on the bottom side the arm moving if not then the actuator has failed. If the arm is moving, then remove the actuator and check the door to see if the top is broken. If so you have to replace the heater case. Helmut got incorrect info from the shop he took his vehicle to. The dash does not have to be removed to replace the actuator. Depends on the type of actuator you have some just pop up with a long screwdriver, some will need a 8mm ratchet wrench/socket. Both are easy to remove and take about 5-10 min. Hope this helps

It could be a few thing, you re heating core could be shot, or in the case of my 91 cavalier if i did not have antifreeze in the engine i did not get heat. That is how i realized i had blew a head gasket

Maybe your radiator needs flushed. That's not good that its the dead of winter and you have no heat. Does it defrost?
