Global Warming...What is the truth?
What is the truth about global warming? Can we make a difference? Does it make any difference to the big picture if i ride my motorcycle to work or leave a light on? Or is this just part of a cycle the planet goes through?

Your not going to get a guaranteed correct answer. With all of the speculations out there it is all just what you want to believe. While there is talk of this being a natural phase that would be based on the fact that we KNOW what has happened in the past. We don't know we just take scientific guesses that can be wrong. Same way with emissions and energy consumption. None of this has been proven definately to cause the world to heat up.
So whether or not this is our fault or just a natural cycle is all in what you believe is right. And know that the localized temperatures at the moment are the weather (short term) while global warming deals with the climate (long term).
In the meantime though, it wouldn't hurt totry to conserve for the fact of conserving and polluting. While we don't know that the pollution impacts global warming, it can have an effect on health. But overall, i'd say enjoy life and live like you want, but that light you might leave on is chewing up your electric bill.
Hope this helps.

Global warming is real. It does make a difference if you ride or use anything that emits carbon dioxide, whether it be your motorcycle or a lawnmower. The more lights you leave on, the more energy is needed to power it from the power company, which uses any manner of fuel burned to produce electricity. It's all been in the news this week. All you need do is ask someone who's been around for some years about the weather lately. It's not normal. I'm 52, and I've never seen the weather like this. It's frightening.

GW will cause more evaporation from the oceans. This will cause more rain or snow. The glaciers and polar ice caps will increase in size and depth It is a feedback system, the climate. Build more dams to catch more fresh water. More flooding from more rain. Keep a boat moored to your back door.
Actually, JET engines are causing the increase in CO2 and H2O in the upper atmosphere. The rise(?) in CO2 over the last 40 years meshes nicely with the rise in jet traffic!! Nothing burned on the surface of the earth could possibly do it. Growing plants take up CO2 instantly, but are only a minor user of CO2. Only in the daytime, and when it is warm. Plus, land is only 15% of the earths surface!! By far the major user of CO2 is the ocean water. It absorbs CO2 instantly on contact. The gradient for CO2 is down. CO2 also is heavier than air. But nature does not have an efficient system to deal with CO2 at higher altitudes. JET engines burn 2-5 tons of kerosene per hour. Each ton burned produces 3.66 tons of CO2 and 1.56 tons of H2O. There are thousands of hours of jet traffic every day over the earth!!
The truth is the enviros want to create a hell on earth, and the governments lust after more tax money -- 'carbon credits'

Probably just a cycle. The methane is not the cause . Methane is very light and high in the atmosphere and it is not there. U cant measure it to prove that it is but I can show that it is not. Methane is very explosive and been leaking to the high atmosphere for a long time .If it were there would of been one big explosion when we launched the missiles through it. Where is it???

The earth has been around for millions of years and will be around for millions of years after we are gone. It can take care of itself. How can people say that we are a threat to the earth?
Ask the people of New Orleans if they feel like they are a threat to the Earth. Or the people of Indonesia who are being flooded out of their homes as we speak if they feel like they are a threat to the Earth. Or the people who were affected by the tsunamis in 2004 if they feel like a threat to the environment. I bet the 80,000 people who died in Pakistan in the 2005 earthquake didn't feel like they were threating the environment. I'm sure that the people in China who are facing a drought don't feel like a threat to the Earth. What about the hundreds of homes that were burned in wildfires every year, I bet those people don't feel like they are a threat to the Earth.
Global Warming...LMAO...The Earth will be just fine

My pitch is what difference does it make?
I'm in midwest USA. It is 20 below zero out right now. I would say we have global cooling at this point.

The EPA has a good page about this. Whether we know for sure or not. Doesn't it make sense to do what we can to keep our planet healthy?
