I have a cell phone ringtone question...PLEASE HELP!!!? ITS URGENT!!?

Okay. As most everyone knows the cell phone industry is really retarded. I just got a new phone (LG VX8300) but not a new plan and for some reason I cant access Verizon's Get it Now service on my new phone to download ringtones b/c of my plan. Anyway my cousin told me that I could use the recorder to record a song off the radio or a CD and then set that as my ringtone. Well, I know how to record the song but I dont know how to set it as a ringtone and my user guide says nothing about it. How do I set a recorded song as a ringtone? I really need to know this b/c right now I just have a plain telephone ring for my ringtone! Thanks.

send the sound to yourself as a text message. When you receive it you will have the option to save it as a ringtone. It won't be as good a quality as the ones your would be able to get off of Get it Now though

Talk to verizon theres probably something wrong with your phone. And verizon doesnt let you set your recordings as ringtones only other providers do. Sorry but i hope this helps.
