spot lights on a road legal quad?

i have a road legal quad and the headlights are useless , i would like to put a set of spotligts on the front nudgebars . iv seen a nice set of small chrome ones for a car and wondered if these would work . im sure its a 12volt system on the quad , the engine is based on the old honda CB250 engine , can anyone tell me if this would work ok

Update:

Mick . I know the difference between fog lights and spot lights . i bought spot lights not fog lights .

Hi as long as the headlamps you fit are able to be focused and you have a dip and main beam they will be ok.

they will work fine as 99% of bike and quads work on 12v system. your best bet is to have them connected to just the high beam switch as this does not affect the mot as long as they point in the right direction at the time of the mot, because the quad vibrates more than a car for which the spot lights are designed for they will move about a bit

They are not spot lights, they are fog lights and by law you are only allowed to use them when it is misty.
