Newark Airport to Financial district (State Street)?

Hi, I was wondering what's the best way to get from Newark to State St...Also, how much would the mode of transportation cost me, and the approximate time of travel. Much thanks!

I like to take trains instead of buses or taxis because the do not care about traffic. From Newark Airport take the monorail "air train" to the "Rail Link" station. From there you can take a NJ Transit train to Newark Penn (or even New York Penn if you want). Be careful not to take Amtrak because it is WAY more expensive for the same 5 minute ride (NJT is about $8-10, Amtrak is ~$30). Once at Newark Penn, you can take the PATH to World Trade (less than $2). There are always taxis outside the World Trade PATH station.

I would take a taxi from the terminal at Newark Airport. You will go thru the Holland Tunnel to Manhattan, then turn south to the Wall Street area. Approximate taxi fare before tip: $45.00. It's the same fare from JFK airport, which I did 10 days ago. Should not be more than $50.00 on the meter.

From Newark Airport, you don't have other reasonable options. Public transportation will get you to the Port Authority Bus Terminal, but that's in mid-town. From there your cab fare to State Street will be at least $15.00 before tip. And you will have a time-consuming journey because you are going out of your way. There's a PATH train to the Wall St area, but you are still not near State Street. Take a taxi.

The #62 NJ Transit bus ($1.25) from outside the terminals takes you to Newark Penn station in 20 minutes, then you take the Path train ($1.50) direct to the World Trade Center, another 20 minutes. They both run frequently from 6am to 6pm (about every 10-20 minutes).

From the WTC it should be about $5, no more than $10 in a cab.
