In a sense, yes... thought not directly. They did business with those who funded and worked with the nazis, presumably with knowledge of that connection... and this eventually leading to asset seizure by congress for trading with the enemy.

Prescott Bush worked for a bank that dealt with German companies, especially Fritz Thyssen, who was an early backer of the Nazi during the mid 30's but who turned around, denounced Hitler by 1939 (when he started invading countries), and was jailed for his disloyalty. Prescott Bush never donated to the Nazis, nor did he ever hold any loyalty to them. Attempts to connect him to the Nazis were started back in 1980, when his son first ran for vice president.

I just looked it up. It does appear he was employed by a bank that was lead by his father in law that did business with the Nazis before it was outlawed. No that is not true. He did however like thousands of Americans sell items and petrol to the nazis. As did GM. Moble, Ford, Coka Cola, General Mills, and countless others. Before they tried to take over europ they were just another government.

so did the kennedy family. ford was building them cars and at the begining of his reign ford switched some of his vehicles to military vehicles. the fact is nobody knew what Hitler was up to and people were involved in world trade. It all stoped when it was finally seen what was going on...
