I like wearing cotton. Does that make me materialistic?

Is so, why? If not, why? Please explain in detail. When you are finished you can put your heads down on your desk and rest quietly.

That means you're living in a material world. Just try ironing yourself.

What would prompt such a question? You have to wear something. I don't see that cotton is any different from anything else.

Being materialistic is not so much about the materials the fabic is made from but more a state of mind of having to have certain things and having to dress certain ways. Often it is all about impressing other people or even thinking you are better than other people because of the things you have and the clothes you wear. Sometimes it is the mentality of having to keep up with the Jones'. Thinking that you just are not good enough if you don't have the same things as others or even coveting things other people have.
