Yahoo Mes. NEWER VERSIONS?
I'm still running yahoo messanger (Old Ver). Are they EVER going to make the NEWER versions where messanger doesn't mess up the chat rooms when you have, "ignore anyone not on my messanger list" in preferences? EVERYONE I know that runs the new messanger has problems where it blocks out TEXT in the rooms if you have have that option clicked.
When the HECK are they going to do a WILD CARD ignore also???

LV.. Sorry, just checked.. The room is still affected if you "ignore anyone who is not on my messanger list" It blanks out people in the public chat area who arn't on your list. Just checked with 20 chatters...
Oh,, BTW Version 7 still works correctly..

The newest version of Yahoo Messenger is 8.1 . At the top of your contact list, click HELP, then CHECK FOR UPDATES from the dropdown list, and follow the instructions to install the newest version.
I do not visit the chat rooms myself, but it is my understanding that they are a separate entity from Yahoo Messenger. Most are open forums, so if you go into an open room, you have to tolerate whoever is there. You can set up private chat rooms, and invite specific friends to join.
