Do you think the Detroit PISTONS have enough to get to the Finals this year??

As of now the answer would be yes the addition of Chris Webber has had a positive effect on the team so far. They are playing like their are having fun again, the last time they played like that was in 04 when they won the championship. Last year when they were winning all those games, they looked discontent.

The one road block I see is playing Washington in the playoffs I think in a series they could beat them, but it would go at least 6 games. Last year the pistons were tired in the miami series, ben wallace was unhappy yet with another coach, it all sounds like an excuse but to me it sounds like reasons why they weren't as good of a team when the playoffs started.

Lastly If the pistons do make it out of the east they will be playing a very tired west coast team, I really see the winner of the western conference having to play two game seven series in a row while the pistons might have to go to a game 6 once, but if they play like they are playing now and maybe add mopete they should sweep through the east. They still have the most solid starting 5 in the NBA. as long as they remember to have fun and play hard they'll be fine.

No question, whatsoever. With the addition of Chris Webber, the Pistons are almost a lock to make it to the finals and represent the Eastern Conference. They have added to their frontcourt and how knows, if they get matched up with the right team in the Finals they could win it. The Eastern Conference isn't that strong compared to the West, but a team like the Wizards or the Bulls(maybe even the Raptors) could give the Pistons a run for the money. I think the Pistons will prevail in the end and make it to the Finals, barring any big trades(rumors of Vince Carter to the Magic).

with chris webber right now, the pistons are rolling. detroit is probably the most unselfish team right now in the NBA. everyone on the starting 5 is capable of putting big numbers. we've seen billups being able to nail the important three or dish out to the likes of rip hamilton, who produces the main points with prince or sheed on the wing. now that webber is on the team, they have fantastic playmaking on the perimeter as well as within the paint. don't forget, webber is more than capable of putting team highs in points (he's done it 3 or 4 times since coming to the pistons).

the best thing about detroit right now is their ability to defend now that webber is there. sheed, prince, mcdysse, maxiell, and webber are more than capable of swatting the layup or shot, while billups, webber, and prince can extend their quick hands and long arms to snatch steal the ball away. basically what makes them deadly is their ability to STOP the ball. thats the poison vile they have against phoenix. they're not afraid of playing transition basketball either, seeing as how prince has stepped up his wingman job and sheed's been recently nailing more 3s than dirk (dirk is playing more of a 20-footer game, hitting around one 3 while recently sheed's putting up two or three 3s).

their biggest challenger would be cleveland and miami. chicago's just not ready with their current lineup (unless they get pau gasol with big bed) because they don't have a reliable scorer. bg and hinrich are jumpshooters so they'll always have 40 to 45%. no offensive inside presence. cleveland is just too young. not enough consistency in scoring besides lebron and even this year king james hasn't consistenly scored (i think he's had only one or no 30 pts games this season!). miami has a fat shaq and a thrifty d-wade and thats really about it. kapono and walker are starting to step it up by stretching the offense, but unless d-wade literally carries the heat once again by himself to win the east, the heat have slim to no chance.

at any rate, detriot's all around game is fantastic. they're not weak on rebounds, blocks, assists (c-webb avgs about 5/game since coming!!) steals, turnovers, free throws, fg%, chemistry, offensive awareness, defensive intensity, or endurance. they can run for hours. they truly are the favorites from the east.

the only downside is that they're basically the anti-phoenix and their games are, in my opinion, a bit boring to watch sometimes =P

sure they do they still have probably one of the best defenses in the game even without big Ben he isn't good anymore anyways and now with the addition of veteran Chris webber i think as long as they stay healthy especially rasheed wallace cause they need him there in full force to make the run. but not to mention they are pretty much the same guys who went multiple times and they know what it takes and webber hasn't looked this good in about 3 yrs i dont care much for the pistons but they are a truly solid and consistent squad
