    decimal=decimal x 100/100=decimal x 100%

    For instance

    0.65=0.65x100%=65%

    For a fraction, you should first convert to a decimal and then apply the same.

    If u have a fraction and you want to turn it into a decimal then you need to divide the numerator by the denominator and get your decimal. To turn a decimal into a percent you move the decimal 2 places to the right. If you want to return the percent to a decimal then you take the percent and remember that the decimal is at the end of it and then you move the decimal 2 places to the left.

    Decimal x 100 = %

    (.50 x 100 = 50%)

    Numerator divided by Denominator = Decimal

    (3/4 = 3 (divided by) 4 = .75)

    Percentage/100 = Fraction

    (75% = 75/100; Finding lowest common denominator = 3/4)

    For all the conversions, I would suggest that simple examples be considered.

    The conversion rules can then be readily found.

    Fraction to Decimal

    1/4 = 0.25 and this is obtained by dividing top line by bottom line

    Fraction to Percentage

    3/5 becomes 3/5 x 100% = 3 x 20% = 60%

    Rule is to multiply top line by 100 and then cancel

    Decimal to percentage

    0.8 = 80%

    Rule is to multiply by 100

    Percentage to Fraction

    75% = 75/100 = 3/4

    Rule is to express as a fraction with 100 as denominator and then cancel

    Percentage to Decimal

    60% = 60/100 = 0.6

    Rule is to divide by 100

    Decimal to Fraction

    0.64 = 64 /100 = 32/50 = 16/25

    0.8 = 8 /10 = 4/5

    0.34 = 34 / 100 = 17/50

    0.462 = 462/1000 = 231/500

    Rule is to express as a suitable fraction and simplify

    For Percentages to Decimals, simply divide by 100

    For decimal to percentages, simply multiply by 100.

    1st convert the decimal into a fraction

    e.g 0.5 = 5/10

    then 5*100/10

    = 50 %

    All you need to do is multiply by 100. For example. 0.15 becomes 0.15 multiplied by 100=15%. You do this for all decimals to convert them to a percentage value. Another example would be

    0.3356= 0.3356* 100%=33.56%

  • 1 decade ago

    50% = 50/100 = 1/2 or 0.5

    140% = 140/100 = 7/2 or 1.40

    Basically, take the percent/100 to get a fraction, then simplify.

    Decimals to Percent:

    Simply move the decimal point 2 spaces to the right.

    E.g's: 0.25 = 25%; 3.65 = 365%; 0.1 = 10% ... etc.
