The same as everyone else. They do have to be role models for the community because that's part of the job, too. Taxpayers provide the salaries so they expect teachers to do things that are right.

I should think - logically speaking - that teachers have the same personal rights as everyone else. They may have additional responsibilities to their students, to parents and the school system. You may be confusing the two.

Their contract likely says something about bringing shame or disrepute to the school, or community, or doing things that might make it difficult to teach, for example, if you are arrested for running down the street hammered and naked.
I knew a guy who lost his job because he attended a frat party his old frat, and high school students he was teaching attended the same party, and alcohol was involved. He did nothing untoward, per se, but pictures surfaced of him at this party, with these kids, and alcohol.
