If rappers were really "keepin it real", wouldn't most of them be serial killers that snitch on themselves?

That's rap music to me.

You have to take rap music for what it is, first of all. I agree that most rappers are fake, but some are real. Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, Common, Mos Def, rappers like these don't just rap about video hoes, cars, money, poppin people off etc. They are real artists, you just have to realize that a lot of rappers come from places where they grew up in the middle of drug lord wars, drive bys etc. the typical "ghetto", but I do agree these things are getting a little old. They need to realize where they're going is not where they came from and they need to give the African American community a better representation, because not only are they feeding into the stereotypes of bad rappers they are making their community as a whole look ignorant.

Yeah, but we all know they're fake tough guys who probably grew up in upper middle class suburban families. We all know they go home and sip wine coolers and hit the books instead of sippin' the 40 and hittin' the chronic.
