Without a doubt, Apollo, God of the light, represents the sun. Also known as Febo,(the brightest). God of the intelligence, music, poetry, medicine. He was considered to be the ideal of mankind, not only because of his virtues, but also for his defects.

The Greeks/Romans sure seem to have the most memorable gods/goddesses. I can't say I like any one in particular the best, but I'd probably lean towards Vulcan (Greek god Hephaestus), god of fire & forge, mainly because there's a statue of him (the largest statue made in cast iron!) in my hometown, Birmingham, AL. He's a symbol of the city's iron mining past.

Plus, his Greek counterpart probably got a little time with Aphrodite before she had that illicit affair with Ares. Well, they were married, anyway. Hope he got a few perks!

    I prefer Nordic Mythology.

I LOVE Odhinn[Odin] and everything he stands for.He is the God of Life and Death,Poetry and wisdom,God of all gods.He believes that the most important and vital thing to life is KNOWLEDGE and he forever seeks it.He hung himself by the branches of the universal tree [Yggdrasil] of the universe for nine days just to learn the wisdom of the dead! The god Mimir took his eye in return for him to seek the wisdom of the future and what it holds! That is an awesome god!

    My favorite is definite Lilith.

She is best known in the Hebrew myth as the first wife of Adam. Lilith refused to submit to him and called upon Satan to escape. This version usually ends with her giving birth to a horde of demons.

Lilith's story is a diverse one. It seems that she originally was one of those sexual goddesses that was twisted into something evil once patriarchal mentality began to dominate. I just find it fascinating she was incorporated into Adam & Eve story.
