I am trying to deal with the Passport agency and they keep extending the date for my passport. Any ideas?

It's a government agency. Meaning, they will do what they want, when they want to do it, with no concern for printed deadlines or your vacation plans. Sorry.

You CAN call the passport office, make an appointment and get it done that day. You might not live anywhere near a passport office, however.

Where you from? In the Philippines it takes only 3 days for the rush processing and 1 week for the non-rush, and presto you have your passport!

their workload has gone up dramatically - about 50% since the new law has gone into effect - this may have slowed down processing times.
