Yes, don't go. For years I went to church with people reminding me that I was a sinner and a screw up. Why put yourself in that atmosphere? If you want to study the Bible find a quiet scenic area and just take a study Bible. You'll find that rewarding inner peace better than anything that others can pound into you.
