Do you (R)'s really vote for candidates because they say they will ban abortion & gay marriage?

If so, why didn't those liars that you voted for, do something about those issues when they had full control of the government for six years

No attempt to ban gay marriage and only a ban on late term abortion with exceptions.

They had the ultimate opportunity to give you what they promised and thumbed their noses at you.

I've learned that they bring up those issues just to get votes...and they don't deliver.

They'd better put up or shut up.

The current group of conservatives in office are not truly conservative. They are political illusionists.

True conservatives are for les spending, lower taxes, a small government that is less intrusive in private citizen's lives. And, yes, there are te social issues. Gay marriage, abortion, etc.

The social issues are the ones they campaign on, as they are the "exciting issues". Those are the issues that people will get behind. Honestly, there is nothing interesting about budget hearings and tax committee meetings. They, the politicians, know that the social issues are the ones that people vote on.

So, here is what they do. They campaign on issues like abortion and gay marriage, speaking conservatively. But, in the backgroud, they are enacting very liberal policy when it comes to economics and government. It is a political magic act. They having you watching one hand, while the do what they want with the other hand.

They do not care about gay marriage and abortion. They care about money and power to control. So, while they distract you with the social issues, they do what they want with the money of this country.

I wrote a paper as an undergrad about this issues. I was a Poli Sci major. My thesis was that I could run as a Democrat in San Fran, get elected and re-elected while actually enacting conservative political and economic policy. As long as I campaign and vote on the liberal side of gay marriage, abortion, immigration, etc, people will vote for me.

The same holds true in conservative area. As long as I campaign against abortion and gay marriage, people are not concerned about what I do when it comes to economic policy.

Are the politician to blame? Partly. But, the voters are to blame as well. They allow all the politicians in this country to do this. They allow themselves to fall into the distraction I stated above.

So, does your local politician care about the woman out there who may want an abortion. Most likely no. They care about getting the tax dollars, and having the power to decide how they are spent.

NO, and the politicians should really have figured that out by now. However we do vote for people who say that they are not for social situations that will drain the economy. I have no problem with gay people living together. I do however have a problem with gay marriage because it isn't about marriage at all it is about benefits. Our population is predominantly women, right now only 49% of our population is married. How many people who are not even gay, but figure out that they will not get married anyway, would seek to burden our economy by saying they were gay and falsely posing as being married? Think about the pensions, the health care, the SS, if we allow that we will be asking the Chinese for a hand out sooner that you think. We don't manufacture anything here any longer, add that kind of burden to our economy and employment system and you will see bread lines.

Fillibuster! They never could get the required 60 votes to end debate in the senate.

No, I vote for the candidate least likely to try to dip his hand in my paycheck. Currently my healthcare plan only costs 86 dollars a month. Child Support costs me $1000.00 a month. Until my youngest turns 18 I really can't afford to pay for someone else's health care!

Unfortunately your question/comment will fall on def ears. The (R)'s will just shift the blame, and continue to blindly support their party.
