why r alot of guy afraid to open there hearts after they first love breaks it?

For the same reason girls are afraid to open their hearts after their first love breaks it. Who likes being hurt and the pain makes us scared to try again. Hopefully, we all give love another shot but sometimes it takes time. You can't push someone into love, unfortunately, if you want him you'll just have to wait 'til he is ready. Or you can move on. No easy choice.

Time will heal all wounds, however its hard to trust after being heartbroken....its the fear of it happening all over again. no matter how many times you tell him your not like other girls i wouldnt do that to you, I'm sure you have told him something along those lines, anyways its hard for a guy to believe......and on top of that i have been heartbroken before and gotten over it the next girl come along and tell me the same stuff Im not like other girls i would never hurt you....blah blah blah.....4 or 5 months down the road guess what happens??

then on the other hand he may be scared to ruin the friendship by going into a relationship with you.

It's hard enough for guys to open their hearts.....but once it is broken.....it can take a long time to mind. I loved this girl so much.....took her to prom, and she had sex with her ex in his jeep, then came back and took pics with me. I didn't find out until a week later. SUCKS! I am still stinging fromt that....and that was 10 years ago.

I am in a similar situation as him. When you don't put your heart out there you don't get hurt when things fall apart, that is why we do it. All you can do for him is reassure him that it is not going to be like that and let him slowly open up.
