PC or Apple Mac?

I have a PC running Windows XP. I am very interested in getting an Apple Mac. Have you changed over? Did you miss anything from Windows? Are Macs easy to use? Thanks folks

Mac is way more powerfull if you really get into it. The unix back boone is used by industrial servers, and is as secure as you can get.

Mac is eaier and more intuitive although there is a learning curve when switching. Just forget how you did things on pc and do what makes sence.

You can also run any os you want so u can run windows if u get stuck.

There is a big mac community that would be all to happy to help you. (http://www.maccast.com)/ for one example. Forms and podcast.

There are lots of programs for mac that you can get, quite a few for free to do more than you can do on a pc. Also the os does quite a bit more on it's own than windows. iMovie, iDvd and iLive really hit the spot. www.apple.com/getamac http://weblog.mrbill.net/essential-mac-software/

If you want to play the games that you can pick up from a local store then stick with a PC. If all you do is browse the web and maybe type a paper here and there, then a Mac may be ok for you. They both have their places and both do things well. Macs can do amazing things and so can PCs. PCs have more support, more software and more hardware to choose from. Macs do not have this. Things for macs, on the other hand, just work. Because when companies make computer products for macs, they don't have to design and code for endless amounts of software and hardware combinations like they have to do for PCs.

On a more opinionated note: I've repaired computers for many years, Mac owners are usually stereotyped in the computer world as being "pretend" computer users. They like macs because they are "cool and artsy". So make sure you purchase for the right reasons.

A PC has much more software that it can run vs the Mac. However if you will be doing a lot of video and photo editing use Mac, PC is a better gamer because most games were made for PC.

Macs are great. The arguments that there is more software available for Windows is flawed. Whatever you need to do on your computer you can find a Mac comparable programme. And in the rare cases when this is not so, the new Intel Macs CAN run Windows too.

Macs are more efficient, the OS is more stable, and quality is excellent.

I am always having to do maintenance on my Windows machine, but never on my Mac.

Source(s): I have both an iMac and a Windows PC.

Here is a little secret, do some research and if your comp fits the requirments you can run Mac OS X on your Pc to see if you like it before you spend your money on a Mac.

Hi, i switched to a mac 5 years ago... i've never been happier. here's the thing most pc fanatics won't tell you.. they've never tried a mac. haha, they are thinking of the apple ii they used in elementary school when they shout "macs suck!" BUT all mac users have used a pc. all of them, in schools, public libraries, relatives houses.. and we still choose apple!

    that's the best sign..

This is a big question what with Microslop coming out with Vista (probably the most fouled up system since ME). My nephew; who is a Microsoft Certified Tech for 10 years just bought a MAC! Nuff said.

mac is easy to use, but because its easy u miss many important features, like games , 3d applications, and many others features, if u use ur pc to do easy stuff like check email, web, listen to music u should buy mac, but if u play games, or use any applications that require pc don't buy mac.
