Counselors represent authority in a setting of what the kids see as a place for play and leisure. The kids want to be free. Counselors confine and restrict behaviour and activity.

Most parents get a break when kids go to camp. And kids as well. Kids like the feel and expererience away from that parent authority figure. Its not all kids though. I find most are boys that have this problem at camps.

Because most of the time the counselors are complete *******. And they think they run the place.

if the counselors are doing something inappropriate. if your child is persistent in not going..there has to be a reason... find out why
i sent my son off to YMCA camp, thinking that it was a christian based camp.. he came home with SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many dirty jokes, saying that's what the counselors did at night, sat around and told them dirty jokes.

when the counselors can,t sove the problems or answer the questions they are looking for . or they don,t like the answer,

Well see, a lot of kids hear these days about child melesters, myself.. ive heard my friends talk about how their all afraid to go up to someone or do something with someone because they feel "uncomfterable" with them..Yet kids.. think of it, kids , they are afraid to talk to adults.. you have to reach into them and help them to not be shy, and to accept what your telling them, and how...
