What happened to Sam Lord's castle, Barbados?
Last visited in 2001, shortly after Marriot sold the property to Grant Hotels. had been going there for 2 months each year for over 20 years. I beleive the Hotel went bankrupt, but has it been redeveloped? I would like to know the current status. Thank you.

The previous management and staff have gone, and the property sold. All the furniture was auctioned but they are meant to be renovating and reopening but no date for that has been given

The structure is still standing and is awaiting redevelopment. I have visited the site 2x and it is a shame to see that it is in an unused state. Here are the most recent articles about it although it they are about 1 year old.

The property has been bought by CLICO and is planned to be a 5 star resort including a golf course.
They have started clearing the property / out buildings but things are moving very slowly, I doubt you will see much happen in the very near future.
Everything that was left in the "castle" was autioned off.
It is sad to see and will take a LOT of money to rebuild.

I have no idea, but I was by there like last year or two, and the castle was still there, so I really have no idea.. Sorry that I couldn't be of much help.

It is still closed. Apparently in limbo.
