I will be in the "no" camp - though you can never be 100% positive nothing will slip through. If there was such a thing actively going on, it would be affecting scores of people at once; and there has not been an issue I ever heard. Security is a big issue for them, and the servers are kept very tight. The closest scam I ever recall was when people were being spammend about giving out their account info: which the company would never do.
Sorry I do not have any info to back up my claims, but I have been playing since the beginning and have not had any issues as of yet.

No usually. I've only heard of a few cases of people sending a virus through a game, but in all of those cases the user has let it in, as they downloaded the game from somewhere like limewire or the like. The game was modified and lets in a virus/ hacker/ anything.
So, if you're running the original game you should have no problems.

it's possible but you're not at much more risk than just browsing hte internet. if you have a firewall you should be fine. your only risk is someone finding and exploiting your IP address via server and still there would need to be a pretty big opening in your security"

It is posible but not likely. Star wars galaxies is a well played game and reliable so i higly doubt it.
