If it truly is a sticker you can use GooBeGone or even WD40 to remove it. If it is a veneer you will need a heat gun. How to tell? Spray WD40 in an inconspicuous area and let it soak in for awhile. If the sticker starts to bubble or melt, it is not a veneer. Veneers are applied with heat and that is what it takes to loosen the glue behind it.

Start with a heat gun and remove all of the sticker. A razor blade might help to get the seam to start...be careful not to scratch the leg. wear gloves, it might get hot, and the adhesive will be very hot. Once you have the plastic peeled off, you will be left with a sticky mess. Goof off is fine if you want to scrub for an hour. A better product is release agent. You can find it at auto parts stores. it is used to remove weather stripping. If that does not work well, lacquer thinner will...but the thinner is very toxic. do that outside.

It's called a veneer. They used to be wood, now it's plastic. You probably won't be able to refinish what's left but you could paint it. If you do want it off, maybe paint thinner, or GoofOff label remover.
